Guest Access is the way a student can give another person access to his or her BYU account. He or she can grant access to selected accounts, including academic, financial, and personal. Approved modes of access can be established, including online or “web access” and “telephone/in-person access.”

Because of federal laws (FERPA), the BYU Salt Lake Center cannot give student information to parents, guardians, spouses, siblings, etc., until the student has authorized them through Guest Access. For more information about FERPA, please see BYU’s Records Privacy (FERPA) website.
